NeON Summer is a six-week remote learning summer immersion program that connects New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with paid learning opportunities. The program is part of the Neighborhood Opportunity Network (NeON).
Applicants must meet certain eligibility requirements.
Participants will explore career interests, develop work-readiness skills, and express themselves creatively through learning experiences designed to strengthen social, civic, and leadership abilities.
All participants will be eligible to earn stipends for their participation.
Eligibility
NeON Summer is open to youth aged 14 to 24 years old who:
- Live in the seven Neighborhood Opportunity Network (NeON) communities of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brownsville, East New York, Harlem, Jamaica, North Staten Island, and the South Bronx, or
- Live in the 27 “hardest-hit” COVID-19 communities, or
- Are on probation living anywhere in New York City and other 14 to 24 year-olds residing in the same household

The application deadline for youth who live in a “hardest-hit” COVID-19 community was June 19, 2020. Applications are chosen by lottery.
