GetFoodNYC Emergency Home Food Delivery is available if you can't go outside, have no one who can help you get food, and can't afford delivery as a result of COVID-19.

You are eligible for the program if you:

  • Are unable to go out and get food for yourself, and
  • Do not have someone else in your household who can get food for you, and
  • Do not have a family member, friend, or neighbor who lives nearby who can get food for you, and
  • Do not receive enough food from Meals on Wheels, God's Love We Deliver, or a similar service to cover your daily food needs, and
  • Are unable to afford food delivery from a restaurant or grocery store.

If you are not eligible for GetFoodNYC, other food resources are available on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resources and Support page.

Answer the questions in the order form based on the circumstances you are experiencing as a result of COVID-19.

Each delivery contains enough food for 3 days (9 meals a person).

A maximum of 2 people in each household may receive food (no more than 18 meals in a delivery).

Food options include:

  • Fresh and frozen meals which may require some preparation in either an oven or microwave
  • Pantry boxes full of groceries for you to prepare your own meals
  • Shelf stable meals that are ready to eat with minimal preparation

Dietary Requests

Kosher, Halal, and Vegetarian meals are available in limited quantities. Kosher, Halal, and Vegetarian food options may be frozen meals, shelf stable meals, or pantry boxes.

Other dietary requests cannot be met at this time.

GetFoodNYC labels ingredients in food packages. If you receive a food item that is not safe for you to consume, you may donate it to someone else in need if you wish and are able to do so.

Food is typically delivered between 8 AM and 2:30 PM on the day after the order is placed, as long as it was placed before 11 AM. GetFoodNYC is not able to give a smaller delivery window at this time.

Some deliveries may take longer to deliver depending on order volume on any given day. All orders are delivered within 3 days.

There are 2 options to place an order:

  • You can place one order at a time and reorder every 3 days, OR
  • You can choose 2 weeks of recurring orders at the current rate of one delivery every 3 days
