The NYC Young Men's Initiative (YMI) is committed to addressing disparities faced by Black and Latino young men in New York City across the areas of education, employment, health, and justice.

The initiative focuses on 4 key areas:

  • Increasing literacy in young children
  • Improving graduation rates and workforce readiness
  • Protecting youth from violent crime
  • Building stronger relationships between the community and law enforcement.

YMI also provides assistance with fatherhood services, mentoring, LGBTQ inclusion, and issues that pertain to young men of color.

If your company would like to partner with YMI, you should look for opportunities through the City's RFP process.

Visit NYC Young Men's Initiative's website.

You can find out about mentoring opportunities through YMI and non-mentoring opportunities with organizations that are addressing the needs of Black and Latino men through NYC Service.
