Coronavirus (COVID-19) Alert

All Sexual Health Clinics are closed until further notice.

You can get low- to no-cost services for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, at the NYC Department of Health's eight Sexual Health Clinics.

Clinics see patients on a first come, first served basis. Some clinics may stop taking patients before closing time. The number of patients admitted to a clinic depends on clinician availability each day.

Anyone who is 12 or older can visit a clinic, regardless of immigration status. No parental consent is necessary.

If you do not have health insurance or cannot pay the sliding scale fee, you can still get services.

The clinics offer a range of services. All patients 12 and older can receive STI testing and treatment and HIV testing. Eligible patients can receive:

  • HIV treatment initiation
  • PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis)
  • PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) initiation
  • Vaccines for HPV, meningitis, hepatitis A and hepatitis B
  • Emergency contraception (longer-term contraceptive options are available at the Chelsea, Central Harlem, Riverside, Crown Heights, Fort Greene, Morrisania and Jamaica clinics)
  • Screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment for alcohol and drug use counseling
  • Crisis and short-term counseling, assessment and referrals to social services

When you visit a clinic, staff will help determine which of our services are right for you and they will offer referrals if needed.
