Property owners are required to clean and sweep the gutters next to their property and the area extending 18 inches into the street from the curb.

The Department of Sanitation can only issue a violation if the condition exists during an address' specific enforcement routing time.

If the condition doesn’t exist at the time of inspection, no violations can be issued.
