You can pay a parking ticket or camera violation on your smartphone using the NYC Parking Ticket Pay or Dispute App.
The app makes paying violations quick and easy.
You can:
- Save your plate and billing information for faster lookup and checkout
- Access your tickets and payment history (up to 100 violations) at any time
- Pay your ticket even if it's not in the Department of Finance system
The app is available for both Android and iOS. You can get it at the App Store or Google Play. The app is free to download and use, but regular service fees for credit and debit card payments still apply.
Note: you can't pay a parking or camera violation using the app if your vehicle has been booted or towed. To learn how to pay violations when a vehicle has been booted, visit the Booted Vehicle page. For towed vehicles, go to the Towed Vehicle Reclaim from Marshal or Sheriff page.

System Requirements
To use the app, your device needs a data connection, either through Wi-Fi or a cellular data plan.
You can use the NYC Parking Ticket Pay or Dispute App on:
- iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, if you have iOS 9 or later
- Android systems with KitKat or later
How to Pay
- Open the app on your mobile device. Your device will need a data connection, either through Wi-Fi or a cellular data plan.
- Search for the violations you owe using the ticket number or Notice of Liability (NOL) number or your license plate number. If you've saved your license plate number in the My Info section, the information will auto-populate, but you can still overwrite it if necessary.
- Decide how much you want to pay. The app displays the full fine and penalty amounts. You can pay the entire balance or make a partial payment by entering the amount you want to pay.
- Choose your payment method and enter all of the required information. If you've saved your billing information in the My Info Section, the information will auto-populate, but you can still overwrite it if necessary. Make sure that your billing address matches the address for your credit or debit card and the Card Verification Value (CVV) is correct, or the payment won't go through.
- Review the information you entered carefully before submitting. You can't cancel, change, or delay the payment once it's been submitted.
- Submit your payment.
- Capture a screenshot of the confirmation page screen or print the confirmation email for your records.
Payment Methods
You can pay using:
- Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or foreign cards with CVVs)
- Debit card (Visa or MasterCard logo)
- Pre-paid or gift card (Visa or MasterCard logo)
- Electronic check
Service Fee
A non-refundable 2% service fee is added for credit, debit, and pre-paid or gift card payments. The fee is also charged for credit card payments made through Apple Pay and Google Wallet.
There's no fee for payments by electronic check.
Proof of Payment
When you pay using the app and your payment goes through, you'll see a confirmation page. You can capture a screenshot and keep that for your records. If you've provided a valid email address, you'll also get a confirmation email within one hour. You can also choose to get a confirmation by text message.
The confirmation email includes:
- Your receipt number
- Transaction date and time
- The total amount you paid
- Ticket numbers, issue dates, and amounts
- Provisional credit statement
Keep this email for future reference. If you don't see the email, check your Junk or Spam folder. The email will come from an email address ending in @finance.nyc.gov.
Processing and Post Date
App payments are processed each day at midnight. If you search for a ticket or violation you paid earlier the same day, you should see "Payment in Process" on the results page.
The payment date will be the date that you completed your transaction on the app. It may take 2 to 4 business days for it to be reflected in the system. Once the records have been updated, you can confirm that DOF received your payment by searching your ticket number in the Payment History section.
Payments can't be canceled, changed, or delayed.
