Guard Dog Registration

You can learn about training requirements for all trained guard dogs.

A current New York City dog license
A microchip implanted in the dog for permanent identification purposes
Registration of the dog and its microchip number with the Department of Health
Notification of any changes to ownership (theft, loss or transfer) within 5 days of the event

Your guard dog must wear both its New York City dog license tag and its guard dog tag on its collar at all times. You can find more information about dog licensing and trained guard dog requirements.
