The Department of Buildings (DOB) conducts routine safety inspections for scaffold work requiring site safety compliance. The Construction Safety Compliance Unit processes:

Requests to remove sidewalk sheds.
Requests to remove projects from the Site Safety Program after work has been completed.
Suspending Scaffold Pre-Use Inspection

You can request a sidewalk shed removal by completing a Construction Safety Compliance Appointment Request form and emailing it to cscuappointments@buildings.nyc.gov.
