Nursing Homes
Nursing homes are long-term residential facilities for people who need 24 hour nursing care and supervision outside of a hospital.
Adult Homes
Adult homes are long-term residential facilities that can be either single or shared rooms with no cooking facilities. Services include three meals per day, housekeeping, personal care, social activities and 24-hour supervision. Nursing and health care services are not provided.
Assisted Living Programs
Assisted living programs provide personal care and home health care services to eligible residents in selected New York State licensed Adult Homes or certified Enriched Housing Programs. Services include three meals per day, housekeeping, social activities, home health aide, intermittent nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and adult day care.
Enriched Housing Programs
Enriched housing programs provide personal care and support services to the elderly living in government subsidized or non-profit apartment buildings. The apartment units must have at least an efficiency-type kitchen facility. Services include one or two daily congregate meals, part time supervision, light personal care, social activities, housekeeping, help with shopping, and care management. Nursing and health care services are not provided.
